Incredibly Irritatiing People

You know the irritating people i'm talking about. those ones who show up at your house unannounced and either try to sell you something or just want to chat. It seems my neighborhood has had an influx of these "people" lately.

Living by myself, i've become accustomed to not having many visitors... and i have almost come to enjoy the peace. but i have to admit to feeling a bit flattered when the doorbell rings. for some reason i tend to believe for a small second that there's a person on the other side of the door who really wants to see ME. Imagine my disapointment when i answer the door and it's someone trying to sell me something. I even had a guy come and ask for a "water sample" so that his company could analyze it and then try to sell me water purifying equipment. i should have peed in that little plastic water container he gave me to fill. imagine the kind of purifying equipment they would have tried to sell me after analyzing that "sample"!! and no i do not need a "dialysis" machine!

what i've decided to do... to save my sanity and trust in my doorbell is to get a 'no soliciting' sign for my front door. now this brings up an interesting question. do those signs actually work? I should ask some of my neighbors that have them if their 'no soliciting' sign work... but maybe that would be considered 'soliciting'... how does one find out if those signs work if they can't ask the people that actually have them? Now that's a dilema.

anyways, i have a wish and request. those incredibly irritating people that keep ringing my door bell, please stop. i don't want an $8 candy bar, or to become a jehovah's witness.

=o)

peace out.
